“Swinging with The Million Dollar Quartet”

In 2022 I decided to spice things up a bit with the “Swinging with Sinatra & Elvis” Shows by adding a new tribute to the “Million Dollar Quartet”! With this show we pay tribute to Carl Perkins, Jerry Lee Lewis, Johnny Cash, & Elvis Presley!!

We begin by telling the story that happened on December 4th, 1956 at Sun Records Studio in Memphis, TN. That day the songwriter of “Blue Suede Shoes” Carl Perkins had a recording session scheduled at Sun Records with Producer Sam Phillips. The studio piano player couldn’t make it so they brought in “The Killer”, Jerry Lee Lewis, to play for him. Then, unexpectedly, “The Man in Black” showed up to see what was going on, Johnny Cash! And even more unexpectedly, “The King of Rock & Roll” just so happened to be in town and decided to unexpectedly drop in and see what was happening at the studio, Elvis Presley!

Can you imagine?!? Carl Perkins, Jerry Lee Lewis, Johnny Cash, & Elvis Presley all in the same building?!? Better yet, all in the same recording studio?!? So a jam session broke out with the 4 of them playing and singing gospel songs, country songs, and rock & roll songs!

In this show, I was portray all of them and perform a hit or two by each of them! You’ll hear “Blue Suede Shoes” by Carl Perkins, “Folsom Prison Blues” by Johnny Cash, “Great Balls of Fire” by Jerry Lee Lewis, & “All Shook Up” by Elvis Presley, and many more of their classics! Audiences love hearing about this iconic event that occurred on December 4th, 1956 and songs by each of these legendary performers!

*The “Million Dollar Quartet” Tribute can be booked as it’s own show or incorporated into the “Swinging with Elvis” Show or the “Swinging with Johnny Cash” Show!
